Home Page - Accueil Mr Tiny Kox ( Netherlands ) was elected on 22/01/07 President of the Unified European Left Group. Mr Kox was born on 6 May 1953 in Veldhoven ( Netherlands ). Since 1973, he has lived in Tilburg , where he was a member of the city council between 1982 and 1999 for the Socialist Party. From 1994 until 2003, he was the party's general secretary. Since 2003 he has been the leader of the Socialist Party group in the Dutch Senate (Eerste Kamer, First Chamber of States-General), where he is a member of several committees, notably European Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Defence and Budget, as well as of the national executive of the party. He leads the SP delegations to PACE and NATO parliamentary assemblies. He is married with Irene and has two children, Klaas (23) and Ties (21). Tiny Kox (Pays-Bas) élu président du Groupe de la Gauche Unitaire Européenne   Tiny Kox (Pays-Bas) a été élu le 22/01/07 à la présidence du Groupe de la Gauche Unitaire Européenne (GUE). Né le 6 mai 1953 à Veldhoven (Pays-Bas), M. Kox vit depuis 1973 à Tilburg, dont il a été conseiller municipal - socialiste - entre 1982 et 1999. De 1994 à 2003, il a été Secrétaire général du Parti socialiste néerlandais. Depuis 2003, il est à la tête du groupe socialiste du Sénat des Pays-Bas (Eerste Kamer) et fait partie de plusieurs commissions parlementaires, notamment celles des affaires européennes, des affaires étrangères, de la défense et du budget. Il est aussi membre de la direction nationale de son parti et chef des délégations socialistes aux Assemblées parlementaires du Conseil de l'Europe et de l'OTAN. Marié à Irene, il est père de deux enfants, Klaas (23 ans) et Ties (21 ans).
